He wasn't our most talented pitcher, but he was one of my favorites. :( He is one of two Braves of whom I've never heard a...well, let's say an "unsavory" story, and that goes a long way in my book.
CABravesFan alerted me to DOB's announcement, but I told her I wouldn't believe it until I saw it elsewhere (since I trust DOB so much - *rolls eyes*)... but now that he's put a real writeup on AJC.com, I suppose I have to believe it. "Thanks", CA. ;)
A team spokesman said the Braves granted the reliever’s request to release him from his contract Thursday, making Bennett a free agent.

Ugh, Chipper's gonna be around forever. He'll play till his poor, broken feet fall off, then they'll hire him as the hitting instructor, and he'll be here till he dies. *barf*
