1. My dad is very happy the Yankees won. He's a Mantle fan from back in the day, and he likes Derek Jeter more than any player in MLB today.
2. Cliff Lee and Chase Utley are awesome.
3. I didn't expect Ryan Howard to strike out 13 times. I didn't think he'd do well against Yankee pitching, but I didn't expect him to perform so poorly either.
4. I didn't expect to see A-Rod crying on the field after the win. What an emotional 2009 he's had.
5. I'm very glad the Phillies didn't win out this year. Two straight years of WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS would have been difficult to swallow. (TWSS.)
6. Glad for Joe Girardi -- I always liked him. (Can't believe he got pie-d!)
7. Glad for Andy Pettitte and his record-setting.
8. A replay of Boog interviewing A-Rod on the field was on Sports Center this morning. Boog asked some insightful questions, and A-Rod kinda blew him off. Poor Boog.
9. I wasn't really cheering for either team; I was just hoping for a good competition. I feel like we got one, and I'm looking forward to Valentine's Day now!
10. A friend of mine works for the Yankees part-time -- I'll see if I can "interview" her about her experiences this post-season. :)

Great post, Lauren. I agree about Cliff Lee and Chase Utley. They are humble and awesome. And, I was pleasantly surprised that a WS win meant so much to A-Rod. And, even though I don't much care for the Yankees, I do have a ton of respect for Girardi, Jeter, CC, Teix and Rivera. They are class acts. I really, really enjoyed seeing the Boog interviews throughout..but I miss him! So, here's to a great, new 2010 season coming up for the Braves!
I totally agree with number 5. The bandwagon fans are hard to take. They insult other team's fans at games. I don't know how many times I heard, "Braves suck" yelled at me when I went to games. The true fans are nice.
Maybe I can go to games in peace next year.
I have started eating solid food again after becoming violently ill watching the yankees and CAPTAIN DEREK JETER win the world series. I am not yet fully recovered but I am learning to take it one step at a time and I feel that by the time baseball is ready to start up again, I should be OK. Thank god for football.
(On a slightly different note, one of the guys I work with lives in New York. He is a born and raised, live and die with Boston Red Sox fan. He went to the parade today. Can anyone explain this to me?)
He went to moon them.
He's totally the type that would :)
:-D Totally believable reaction from a Sox fan.
Agree with 1-5, most especially #5 and I agree with your dad on Jeter..
