This year's event will feature current Atlanta Brave former Rome Brave and South Atlantic League All-Star Tommy Hanson, the 2010 Rome Braves field staff, Atlanta Braves personnel, and other special guests. Hanson debuted for the Atlanta Braves in 2009 and posted a 2.89 ERA and 116 strikeouts in 21 games over the course of his rookie season. In 2007 Hanson was named to the South Atlantic League All-Star team and was named the Pitcher of the Year for Rome by the Atlanta Braves organization. That year he struck out a organization high 154 batters in 133.0 innings pitched between Rome & Myrtle Beach. In 2008, Hanson was awarded the Phil Niekro Award which recognizes the top pitcher in the Braves' system.
"We're thrilled to have Tommy come back to Rome and visit with our fans and lend his support to this worthwhile cause," said Rome Braves General Manager Michael Dunn. "Jim Beauchamp will always hold a special place in our hearts as a key member of the Atlanta Braves family. The Hot Stove benefits Cancer Navigators in Beach's memory."
