"Mac, don't go..."

Smoltzie knows what's up. ;)

In case you don't know who Smoltzie's referring to, Jon Sciambi is one of the local TV announcers for the Braves. He goes by the nickname "Boog" occasionally, and he does all the TV broadcasts with Joe Simpson on SportSouth and FSN South. (Boog's the one with the shockingly red hair.)

That was my favorite "miked-up" Smoltzy clip of the day!

I LOVED the clip when he had his sunglass on and asked Mac if he thought they would help him get a date. Then Joe and Boog joked about making it a mission to find him a date and Joe (I think it was Joe) said that would be like winning the GA Lottery. And the clip of him yawning... Genius!

I have no idea how someone would even get Smoltzie's attention. If/when he remarries, I'll bet it's to a sweet, Christian woman who has no idea who he is. I'm picturing a young-ish widow, for some reason. You know he wouldn't go for the type that would approach him at a bar -- if he even goes to bars! ;)

Does anyone know the name of that clip on YouTube? No sound on this computer...

I'm right here! I'm right here! I'll take that date, sunglasses or no!!!! John who?!? Smoltz...isn't he a quiet but great golf player? Teehee. I had to tape the game b/c of work and haven't viewed it... but I knew I could come here and get a scoop. Thanks! Great pics of the game, too. Gives me a better appreciation of the upper level seats!

Hmmm...I just checked the settings, and the radio button is checked next to "Yes, make this video available on mobile phones and TV." I'm sorry you can't see it, but I'm glad you like the site! It's fun for me -- just a hobby. :)

Funny thing is, he met his ex-wife in the bar at the Omni Hotel in downtown Atlanta. I'm sure he's not that type anymore though. I picture him marrying someone who's divorced with kids. Maybe a mom from his school (ha!). Don't know why, but it just makes sense to me.

I don't even know where someone would run into him. Maybe the golf course? I doubt he does his own shopping so the grocery store is out. It would more than likely be someone who has no idea who he is - if she knew, then her motives would definitely be in question.

All joking aside, I really admire him a lot, as a player, but also as good Christian man. Plus, he really seems like a genuinely nice, funny guy. Plus he's kinda cute.

I know what you mean about someone who knows who he is, but at the same time there are women who might know who he is and still just like him for the person, not the "celebrity".

Like me. :)

I like him for the person too. I adore him. I think he's hilarious and I wish they'd mic him up more often. I really hope he'll start announcing some games after he retires.

I'm sure there are a lot of women who like him for the person he is, but there are just as many that would take the celebrity. I just think anyone in his position should be careful.

But then again, what do I know? I'm only 23 and probably way too cynical for my age. :)
