Shear Genius

No, not the Bravo TV show (which I love, and am very excited for it to return), but Baby's haircut. Seriously, it's awesome. LizzieBeth was kind enough to send this picture, which she took on Sunday.

"So, tell me, how is it that a man like you, so bald and so quirky and funny... how is it you're not taken?"

- Marisa Tomei, to George, in "The Cadillac"

Oh, but he is taken. *sigh*

I'm not sure that he's actually going bald because when he grows his hair out, it's actually quite thick and even more fluffy. I think he just cuts it like that, but I have no clue. But it does make you wonder, though.

His dad still has a lot of hair, too, or he did at FanFest in January.

I see a lot of skin there, is all I'm saying.

I see what you're saying. I didn't mean to sound like I was saying you were wrong, I was just stating my thinking. ;) But yeah, there is a lot of skin there. Maybe I'm in denial and don't want to believe he might going bald. :\ Poor Mac if he is.

The guys give him a hard time about losing his hair. He definitely is -- faster than a lot of people his age -- but I don't feel too sorry for him. A lot of women find bald men sexy, and he'll wear a ballcap most of his life anyway. ;)

(Also, genetically, baldness is typically carried from the mother's side, although there are some documented instances of father and sons sharing balding patterns.)

I love that quote...can I use it on Smoltzie?!

It applies better to Smoltzie, doesn't it? I'd been saving it for a really good bald picture of him, but then you sent this gem over and I couldn't resist. :)

For the record, I love bald(ing) guys. Seriously dated two of them -- there's something...different...about them. Just look at Huddy!

I couldn't agree more on Huddy. I'm glad there's someone who doesn't think I'm crazy. Somehow, too, when he got mad at the ump that day for not getting calls, and then last week when than pitch came in on him and I thought he might storm the mound...he looked even better to me :)

Can I also just say how happy it makes me that this team seems so close to each other? They all act like brothers. Ok, I'm done :)

'05 was a pretty huggy year between the Baby Braves, and '06 was good for McFrenchy displays of lurve, but this is the most affectionate season I remember. Maybe it's because Chipper's in on it? Everyone's so lovvey, and I'm 100% convinced it's because Baby hugs at least one teammate per game. Spread the love, boys. Spread it.

(Also, Huddy? Yum. If I could hang around one Brave all day on an off day, it might be him. He has the hot + hilarious thing going.)

He's precious. That's a great picture. Good work, LizzieBeth. He just couldn't be any cuter, really.

Bald totally works for Smoltzie, and he's been that way for so long that I can't even remember him with hair, so I don't miss it. As long as he stays away from the porn 'stache, we're good.

The 'stache! Good times.

((http://i28.tinypic.com/2elw5ev.jpg the colored blurb is pete :'D, and the black thing is his cast. sorry for my poor photography skills.))

The 'stache. LOL!

Ya know, I can forgive him for doing that in the early 90's. God knows I had some hairstyles during those years of which I'm now less than proud. Heh. He still breaks that thing out sometimes though, and that kills me. Like, is he doing it because he lost a bet in the clubhouse, or on a dare? Oh, John.

Yep, I think the huggy thing is totally because the Baby Braves grew up fans of the team, and they bring out the kid in Smoltzie, Chipper, Glav, etc. Plus, everybody loves playing for Bobby. Makes it that much more fun for the fans (who aren't out there on the field) to watch. Plus, there are some pretty hot guys, so that always helps :)

Lauren, if you ever get that invite to hang out with Huddy, let me know...I'm so there!

Thanks for the pic, Crista! Aww, what a big cast.

Jessica, you're welcome to join my roommate and I if/when we hang out with Huddy. She's not a huge baseball fan, but she'll watch every inning of a Tim Hudson game. :D (She used to say she was a fan of Thor's thighs, and now it's just Huddy in general.)

I wonder if him and Frenchy went to get hair cuts together, because he definitely got a trim too

SO nice to know there are other Huddy fans out there. Lauren, you totally have a point on some women liking bald/balding men. My two favorites are Smoltzie and Huddy. Costanza on the other hand... don't know if I could touch that one!

Oh and thanks for the link to the video of TWIB. I don't really check my school e-mail anymore so I'm sorry for the late response, but I'll send over my new e-mail addy. Thanks again! :D I'll be at the game June 2, sitting two rows behind the dugout and trying to get great pics of Mac for you. I really hope Smoltz will be closing by then!

I don't specifically have a thing for balding men, but Lauren's right about Huddy. I think he'd be so much fun to hang out with. He's adorable (I like him better without hair than with), funny, laid-back, plus he's got that Southern-man charm going on. Not sure his wife would let a bunch of single women hang out with him, but it's a nice thought...

Jennifer, you're so on the money calling it the porn 'stache! LOL
