Plunking

From braves.com:

If the bruise on Brian McCann's right side was acquired in retaliation to the broken hand Alfonso Soriano suffered two innings earlier, then Jeff Bennett is sorry.
But at the same time, the Braves right-hander doesn't see how anybody could have thought he was attempting to hit Soriano with an 0-2 pitch in the second inning of Wednesday's game at Wrigley Field.
Agreed, man. The full article is pretty interesting, and there's a video there of their Soriano getting hit. This part of the article made me nervous, though:
Bennett left before the end of Wednesday's game to tend to his ailing wife. When he returned on Thursday, he was ready to explain what happened, and happy to report that his wife was fine.
The AJC reports:
Jeff Bennett: Had to leave immediately after the game last night because his wife was hospitalized here in Chicago. It’s OK, she’s doing fine now.
Oh, poor Rachel. Hope everything really is OK, and that it wasn't just a line fed to the media to get them to stop asking questions.
