Mark Kotsay traded to Boston

There's nothing on the Braves website yet, but Yahoo is reporting...

NEW YORK – The Boston Red Sox acquired outfielder Mark Kotsay from the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night pending a physical, according to a baseball source with knowledge of the deal. The Braves will receive a minor-league pitcher in return if the pitcher passes a physical.
The article does note that the deal is not official, but it sounds done to me, considering the reports from Ken Rosenthal and others.

Good luck, Kots. It was nice having you here. :)

12:45pm ETA:

ESPN.com says we get a single-A, 20-year-old outfielder named Luis Sumoza for Kots. Is that an even trade? Seriously??

Maybe we are "rebuilding"...

Alas. I was hoping the deal had fallen through. Boston's my favorite AL team, though, so good for them. Best of luck, Kots! You'll definitely be missed. :)

apparently the kid the braves got is a (very) young, (very) raw talent...actually not to bad for a guy they were going to lose at teh end of the year...that being said I am sorry to see Kotsay go- i really lked him, seemd like a good guy to have around

Awwwww, I love ya, Hotcakes, but I'm not following you to the Red Sawx. Sorry. I'll be happy if he gets to the postseason, again, though.

I know nothing about this kid, but something is better than nothing, which is what they would have ended up with, because I doubt Hotcakes was coming back.

How's that for a run-on? State school. :D

Jennifer-

At least you used a period. and spelled everything right. I'm apparently still struggling with "the" and "like"
