There's a lot to observe here...

Can't wait till Freddie's a full-timer. :D

The caption of this AP picture reads, "Mexico catcher Miguel Ojeda consoles pitcher Jorge Campillo after a three run triple by Cuba in the fifth inning that led to Cuba's 7-4 victory in their World Baseball Classic game at PETCO Park in San Diego Monday, March 16, 2009."

"Consoles". Riiiight.

Finally, I'm on vacation at the Florida panhandle now. We stopped in Phenix City, AL on the way down for lunch, and there was a real, live, Winn Dixie across the street. Most of the ones in Metro Atlanta have closed! I was so excited. (PS - IIRC, Phenix City is one of the towns Huddy calls home. I've never heard country music being played in Taco Bell, but hey, it's Alabama!) :)

Posting may be slow this week -- feel free to keep discussions going in the comments. :)

You've never seen a Winn-Dixie? That makes me giggle a little. My sweet home Alabama is full of them =]

Oh my. There certainly is a lot going on, especially in that first pic:)

Allee-

All that's going on there and that is the first question that comes to mind? :D

I've never seen a Winn Dixie either...

Ummmm....I can only think of inappropriate comments about the first picture, so I'll try to restrain myself. I had heard he was a big guy, but seriously... :)

Allee, I've seen plenty of Winn Dixies -- it was one of two grocery stores we had in my hometown when I was a kid. However, they've closed most of the ones in Metro Atlanta, so I was excited to see they still exist.

I've been in the sun two hours and already started a nice sunburn. This is what fair skin gets ya, kids! I did get a compliment on my Braves visor, though. :D

strange,
my cousin brough a copy of "Because of Winn Dixie" over here a few days ago. That was my favorite book we read in middle school, besides Maniac McGee, The Watsons go to Birmingham, and Fever 1793.

I think there are a few Winn Dixies in Valdosta, which is where my brother-in-law's parents live.

Wow Lauren- you mean they actually let you leave the office?
I would say you are not allowed to leave us hanging (wow- bad choice of words- no pun intended!) but I think I can let it slide just this once:)- just don't get too fried...skin cancer= NOT FUN

Glad you enjoyed your stop in Alabama!

We still have tons of Winn Dixie's in southern Georgia or I believe we still do.

Enjoy your vacay, Lauren, and don't get too much sun! ;)

Oookaay. I'll be good & not say anything about Freddie other than he's very cute & quite a tall, strapping young fellow.

The Winn-Dixies down here aren't very nice.

I'll be in the Tallahassee area this weekend, I'll wave to the west at you, Lauren.

"strapping young fellow..."

couldn't have put it any better:D

Ok, I will ask the question that I know everyone has been wondering...aren't these guys supposed to be wearing cups?

Leah said...

CA - It might be their own choice to wear them or not. I think most do though.

I would think that infielders would want the protection.

A few years ago, there was a pitcher who got a line drive right in the, ahem.. equipment & he wasn't wearing a cup (don't recall who, not a Brave). You'd think that would scare them all into wearing one.

Hey theres a Winn Dixie in Auburn too, it's a very nice, clean store. My favorite grocery store in the area actually..since they don't have a Publix and I loate wal mart.
