MLB.com has a nice, brief article on the Original Mr. Blow Pop, Eric O'Flaherty. Do you know what clicked while I was driving to work this morning? That O'Flaherty's intro song is the same song Papelbon danced to in his underpants...
Y'all know I love relief pitchers, but this? This is insane. Pap is crazy. :D
...Can we get our closer to dance in his undies on the field? What are the odds that would EVER happen? ;)

Lauren, I'm not sure your blog could handle the level of traffic if Gonzo appeared in a video dancing in his underwear. We'd all go crazy (not to mention watch over and over and over and over...! :)
I <3 Paps. He's too funny.
Mental image for the rest of the day - Gonzo dancing in his underwear. There goes my work productivity. :D
If our closer danced in his drawers on the field, the dance would be far more sexy and so would the image.
Jessica-
the mere thought... :D
Oh, and I love how the article calls Eric "Bobby's main lefty out of the pen other then Mike GOnzalez"...umm, he's our only lefty other then Mikey!
(and I will now go back to my regularly scheduled daydreaming about Gonzo dancing in his underwear)
I like Pap, too - he's crazy, but the fun sort. ;)
Unrelated, but Gonzo's spot on 96.1 makes me giggle. "Hi, this is Michael Gonzalez, and the Braves are part of the Project."
Amy - I just heard Gonzo's radio spot, too. I imagined him saying it in his underwear. :)
I enjoyed Baby's spot earlier in the game, too. He sounds so bashful!
Michael?!? He is sooo not a Michael! (I know his parents call him that but they are his parents!)
Jen - I don't think I'd hear a word he said in that case.
I like Pete's spot, too, though he was talking so fast it was hard to catch the first time.
I had a little bit of a hard time with Pete's, too. "This is Pay-uh Moylun..." It took me a sec to figure out who "Pay-uh" was! haha
Speaking of Papelbon... he's insane. I really do love him.
Okay, that picture almost resulted in me baptizing my computer with Mountain Dew. :P
Also, Don Sutton was saying a minute ago how nobody in the dugout is cheering harder for the offense today than DLowe, and went on to say he might have some pom-poms... I'd pay to see that.
LOL @ the number of comments on this. I'm not even going to say anything, everyone else has already said it!
Wow, that pic is awesome! LOL!
For you radio listeners, am I the only one who giggles at Don Sutton's discussions about white socks and loafers?
I missed that discussion, but I did like how earlier, he was trying to say "O'Flaherty" in an Irish accent and "Moylan" in an Australian accent. It...didn't work. Heh.
Amy, high-five for Dew! I would drink nothing else if that was a healthy option. :D
Gonzo's undie dance would be more like a rumba. And the blog would probably melt down.
flbravesgirl-
Gonzo's undie dance would be more like porn...and the blog would probably be banned :)
Well, the rumba is very steamy. All those slow hip swivels. Suits him well, IMO.
you just had to go with the "slow hip swivels"...happy dreams for me tonight :)
Hee hee! I lived in Boston during Papelbon's "Shipping Up to Boston" dance. :) Just so long as they don't ship O'Flaherty anywhere! I like him. :)
Did someone just use Gonzo and porn in the same sentence? I'm not usually in to that type of thing, but... :D
Jen-
blame flbravesgirl...she put the thought there with her "gonzo doing the rumba" thing :)
Uh-uh! Not my fault. The rumba is a perfectly legitimate Latin dance. Don't you watch Dancing with the Stars?
flbrvesgirl-
totally your fault! There is a big difference between Dancing with the Stars doing the rumba and Gonzo oing the rumba in his undies and you know it :)!!!!
The next question of course is: what kind of undies?
Boxer Briefs...definitely boxer briefs :)
I knew you'd be all over that.
like you've never thought about it! :)
