Glavine retires, takes job with Braves

Wow, bigger news at MLB.com!

Tom Glavine has officially ended his playing career and reunited with the Braves' organization.

The Braves have announced that Glavine has accepted the invitation to serve as a special assistant to team president John Schuerholz.
Good for him!

I think this is a very good thing. Mend fences, get him back in the fold, all that good stuff. And I can picture him possibly being a GM one day.

Tommy might always be my favorite pitcher. I'll never forget how lights out he was in the '95 WS. Glad he's sticking around!

Jessica, I'm with you. I honestly felt betrayed when he went to the Mets, but I got over it once I learned how baseball is a business like any other business.
