ESPN E:60 Presents: Braves Jason Heyward Exclusive

Rookie MLB right fielder Jason Heyward, considered one of baseball’s most electrifying slugging prospects at only 20 years old, will be featured in an E:60 exclusive Tuesday, May 11, at 7 p.m. ET, ESPN’s Emmy Award-winning, primetime newsmagazine show. ESPN baseball analyst Buster Olney will report on the emerging star, hometown hero, rookie phenom, and future face of his franchise.

Growing up 32 miles from Atlanta, Heyward’s father would drive him to baseball practice past Turner Field, the home of the Braves, nearly everyday. Less than a decade later, Heyward is starting in right field for the Atlanta Braves, hitting a homerun in his first major league at bat and leading the 2010 Braves in RBI.

Baseball pundits are already anointing Heyward as the next Hank Aaron, not just because what he does on the field, but his maturity and leadership off it. On opening day this season, Aaron, wearing his number 44 jersey, threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Turner Field. The recipient was Heyward, who was wearing number 22. It was a passing of the torch.
