Brian McCann and Rockin Refuel

Oh yes, BMac is endorsing a chocolate milk energy drink. Isn't that the best thing you've ever heard?!

I received a press release last week from Shamrock Farms; it's in the giant block below. When I replied and asked if any of the commercial videos (and outtakes, of course) would be available before they air at Coolray Field (the G-Braves stadium), I was told no. The rep was very nice, and I think my favorite part of the initial ad/email I received was this:

Recent scientific findings show that chocolate milk is the original protein drink ideal for post-exercise refueling. McCann relies on Rockin’ Refuel in his own cool down routine in order to help rebuild muscles after a rigorous game.
I'm sorry, I just laughed again. Of course he drinks chocolate milk after the game "in his cool down routine in order to help rebuild muscles after a rigorous game." :D

Okay, let's get serious. (Hee hee.) This is an endorsement just like Mizuno or Nike or any other that these guys choose to do, and therefore, I am interested in which products they choose to attach their own personal "brand" to. Here's the press release mentioned above:

ROCKIN’ REFUEL ENLISTS MAJOR LEAGUE TALENT
MLB All-Star Game MVP Brian McCann of the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds’ Jay Bruce Turn to Shamrock Farms’ Rockin’ Refuel for post-game refueling

PHOENIX (July 28, 2010) – Major league baseball players and professional athletes alike know the importance of post game refueling. That’s why two of baseball’s best – five-time all star catcher and recent MLB All-Star Game MVP Brian McCann and outfielder Jay Bruce, former minor league player of the year and rising star for the Reds, are the new faces of Rockin’ Refuel – a protein-fortified chocolate milk with 20 grams of protein to refuel athletes with the great taste you can only get from 100 percent real milk. Both athletes include Shamrock Farms Rockin’ Refuel as part of their rigorous training regimes post game cool down, helping rebuild and repair their muscles after exercise, hydrating and building their endurance for the next time they hit the field.

In addition to training with Rockin’ Refuel, Bruce and McCann will be featured in print advertisements, videos and voice-overs in two AAA minor league ballparks – Louisville Slugger Field – home to the Louisville Bats, the minor league team for the Reds and Coolray Field – home to the Gwinnett Braves, minor league team for the Atlanta Braves. The print ads highlighting Bruce and McCann’s pregame and post game rituals will appear in game-day programs, and Bruce’s can also be seen on concourse signage around the stadium. The videos will run in the stadium right before the first pitch and voice-over recordings throughout the game.

Rockin’ Refuel

Recent scientific findings show that chocolate milk is the original protein drink ideal for post-exercise refueling. In response, Shamrock Farms has developed a first-of-its-kind optimal sports recovery beverage – Rockin’ Refuel™ protein-fortified chocolate milk.

Rockin’ Refuel has 20 grams of protein to refuel athletes with the great taste and essential nutrients only 100 percent real milk can provide. With naturally-occurring electrolytes, it is also an excellent source of calcium, magnesium, riboflavin, phosphorous and Vitamin D.

Available in chocolate, strawberry and vanilla, the 12 oz. on-the-go bottles retail for the suggested retail prize of $1.39 and are available in major retail and convenience store locations.
In subsequent communication, I was told Mac represents all flavors, not only chocolate.

If/when I find any video advertisements, I will definitely share them. This is awesome.

That's so cute.

I have actually read before that chocolate milk works better than sports drinks to replenish your electrolytes after exercise.
