Matty signs a one-year deal with the Braves

Braves outfielder Matt Diaz signed a one-year, $1.225 million contract Friday, leaving closer Rafael Soriano as the team's only unsigned arbitration-eligible player. Diaz can earn $12,500 for 450 plate appearances and $12,500 more for 500. He hit .338 with 12 homers and 45 RBIs in 135 games in 2007.
