The Atlanta Braves first baseman was at Preston Public School yesterday with former teammate Pete Orr to kick off a Winterball program and tell the kids about professional baseball.
Thorman and Orr answered questions in an assembly and participated in a clinic with plastic balls and bats at Thorman's old school.
Thorman told the kids that sometimes you have to recover from setbacks.
"There's a lot of strikeouts for every home run," he said.
