Peter Moylan ready for another crack

First of all, HA.

That's the name of a great article in yesterday's Herald Sun, an Australian newspaper.

"If I had scripted my year, I could not have done it any better," he said.

"My first year it was a bit like, 'Here is this guy out of the Baseball World Classic, throw the ball hard, blah, blah, blah'.

"Last year it was more about proving I belonged there. I didn't want to be this guy who came from the Baseball World Classic, but Peter Moylan, the relief pitcher who's throwing the ball really well."

Moylan today returns to Atlanta to crank up his preparation for the 2008 season. It's a couple of months earlier than last year, but that's by design.

I asked DOB of the AJC yesterday if Pete would be at FanFest. Answer:

Lauren, no — for obvious reasons (Australia).

Hmm. This plus the Aussie baseball TV commercials makes me say he won't be there. It's good to know -- I hoped he'd be there.

But the Aussie article said he headed back to Atlanta yesterday, so...he is or is NOT going? I guess I'll be pleasantly surprised if he is. :)

....

Lauren T., you’re right, it does sound like Moylan might be coming over for FanFest, judging from that story. He wasn’t on the list, so I assumed he wasn’t coming because of the distance involved….

Excellent.
