Frenchy's Coming Up To Bat Song

I should preface this post by saying I don't listen to country music often -- one station is on my second-tier presets in the car, but I don't own any country CDs and couldn't differentiate between any two artists.

So on Monday night, I didn't understand why my friend Jen got a little inflamed at Jeff Francoeur's song choice. He comes to bat to the song "Watching Airplanes" by Gary Allen.

Her thoughts:

Why is it that Frenchy's "inspirational" song is some country song about a guy watching airplanes, wondering which one his ex-lover is on? That, to me, is not very inspirational; rather, it's depressing. Is he trying to tell us all something?

I mean, if you are going to choose a song, make it fun and upbeat. If you aren't sure what you are looking for, try the U2 song, "I still haven't found what I'm looking for".

This [song choice] could mean several things: (1) "I haven't found that fast pitch ball thrown right over the plate for a home run yet," (2) "I haven't found my footing to throw the ball to home plate to get the base runner out," or (3) "I still haven't found what I am looking for in a life-long partner." Sure, this too is depressing, but at least you are looking for something obtainable. Please, Frenchy, change your song to something the fans can get excited about!

Interesting points. ;) Thanks, Jen! (And thanks to Holly for helping me identify the song!)

The real question is why did BMac dump Amarillo Sky already.

Maybe it's because he's the Delta fella?

What I want to know is what is the song that Yunel Escobar has been coming out to? The Latino one? I love it!
