Hudson, Boyer injured

Huddy AND Blaine left the game with injuries today. It hurts my heart a little -- I've always loved Huddy (in spite of his occasional Jekyll & Hyde act on the mound) and Blaine has been one of my lesser boyfriends since he came up with the Baby Braves. (It's partially his awesome hair, and partially that he's a local boy. He graduated from the same high school as a couple of my favorite cousins.)

Get well soon, guys. I can't believe the injuries this team has sustained so far this year. :( :( :(

Hopefully it's not serious for either one of them. We can't afford any more injuries. I am interested to see what happens when Smoltzie returns, though. Wonder who will get sent down?

If Huddy doesn't need to be DLed, I'm going to guess they'd send Buddy Carlyle back down.

I gotta say, I wouldn't be upset about that. I like Buddy, but it seems to me he's been inconsistent. And, I wish they'd use Stockman a little. His numbers look good, but we don't know enough because he's barely pitched...

I'm interested to see what happens when Smoltzie comes back, too. I know that this is no excuse...but I think that might be part of the reason for the bad time on the road trips. Yes, I know the offense sucks on the road and the defense lets holes come into play, but I think if we had our prime pitcher we might be a little better off. Not for sure...just a thought. =]
And, get well wished to Huddy and Boyer. Huddy has always been one of my favorites =/

I'm cheering a bit more for Stockman because he's an Aussie (like I did with Damian Moss a couple of years ago and, obviously, Pete Moylan today), but Bobby's kinda funny. He plays his favorites, and will run them into the ground. I wish he'd have Gregor batting first and KJ batting 5th or 7th, and maybe give Josh Anderson a start in left over Greg Norton. But then, I'm not the one running the team. :)

I was thinking the same thing, Lauren. I know Bobby's going to be Bobby, and I rarely, if ever, question him...but I was thinking it'd be nice to try Gregor in the leadoff spot and move KJ back down where he thrives. And, Norton is better off the bench (though he's gotten better defensively in left). But, Bobby (et al.) knows a lot more than I do, so whatever he does works out. Maybe they'll try a lineup switch on the next road trip, though :)
