One of the best parts of this past weekend (aside from Baby's stolen base, ha ha) were the cameras catching Pete a few times. Reader Holly B. sent me a few of her great pictures from the weekend's games, and I borrowed and trimmed these from her album. Thanks, Holly B.!
I miss him. :)
ETA: 2:40pm -- in that bottom pic, he looks like a grown-up Dustin Pedroia, doesn't he? They're like lil' chipmunk brothers!

woo -- who knew PMo would be all tatted up & hardcore!? nice, quiet, unassumin' guy from down unda'...rockin' a bit of 'tude! lovez!
i guess i never paid much attention.....is that why he always pitches in sleeves? to cover up the, well, *sleeve*?
Oh, yeah. Just look at all the Pete posts here and you'll see a lot dedicated to the tats. ;)
I miss Pete- and his tats:)
I also miss the glasses! He was sooo cute with them (I am kind of a sucker for a guy in glasses)- still wishing I could find a pic of Mac when he was still wearing his...
By the way moonkween...yeah he has to wear long sleeves when he pitches- MLB rule
i'm the relative "NKOTB" here at braves love...still toolin' around the site (which i *love*, btw! :)
why does PMo have to wear sleeves when huddy doesn't? is because of the color in his tat? just curious...
moonkween- i think it is because Pete's is a full sleeve...can't remember who it was a couple of years ago had one and some batters were complining that it was a "distraction" so MLB made a blanket rule about the full sleeve...I know kinda stupid but what can you do?
I've always heard Pete wears the sleeves to keep sweat from rolling down his arm onto his hand -- several of the guys do that. TP always did, when he played. Didn't matter how hot it was, he was always in long sleeves.
Jenny has a few great pics of Baby with his glasses over at Velcro Vernacular. Here are the direct links to the pics...

Aww, he looks like he's in jail in that last pic!
so adorable:) How cute is he with his hat turned backwards and his glasses!?
I could have totally made up the reasoning about Pete but I do recall it happening to the other pitcher...being forced to wear long sleeves because of his tats...
I kinda liked him with glasses, too...but I can understand that it's more comfortable to pitch without them.
There is a "Justin Miller Rule" in the MLB regarding visible tattoos for pitchers. Not sure what percentage requires sleeves, but it's new this year, I think. I noticed it doesn't necessarily apply to non-pitchers as Josh Hamilton only wears sweatbands on his arms.
Thanks Jessica...nice to know at least part of my brain still functions:)
i miss the glasses, but it took me a while when my 5th grade teacher had Lasik. I guess I'll get used to it. but Pete is my favorite, so he's always be cute to me<3. :)
Glasses? He wears glasses? Ohmigod. What other tidbits of adorableness are you holding back from me? I LOVE a boy in glasses. (Ummmmm, picture Greg Maddux in the dugout circa 1994. He's not nearly as cute to me without those Coke bottle specs, but I still love him.)
I guess it's a good sign that Pete's not wearing anything on his arm? (I got my MD at K-Mart. Along with my degree in linguistics. :D ) It's awesome that you've been able to see him. Gotta love when they show the dugout. Boog and Joe (Joe? I think it was Joe.) were talking yesterday about the contraption that Smoltzie has to wear. Poor baby. Still ready at a moments notice for naughty nurse duty. ;)
jennifer-
if you are refering to Mac- he doesn't wear them anymore (damn lasik...)
