Tommy out for a month; Huddy IVed

*sniffle* For Tom Glavine, it's a flexor tendon origin tear (in the elbow, where the forearm/hand muscles attach to the humerus) and won't require surgery, but they make it sound like we won't see him again until the Washington series at home next month. Read more at the AJC and Braves.com.

NO MORE NAVY BLUES, TOMMY. EVER.

-----------------------

Gah, in other news, Huddy had some trouble after the game yesterday...

When the clubhouse was opened to the media, the Braves said that Hudson was unavailable to talk. He was still in the trainer's room with an IV providing him fluids.

Boy needs to gain some weight. I know he's naturally slim, but if it's physically possible, he needs to gain a few. People with frames that slight have a hard time when they sweat a lot and lose electolytes. He's been taking an electrolyte pill before he pitches and trying to stay hydrated between innings, but maybe he needs something else. Teix, can you spare a Gatorade bar?

It just got worse... Chipper got hit in the eye during BP.

:(

I am really starting to believe that this team is cursed...

Can we start a grass roots petition to keep them all in a plastic bubble when they are not actually playing a game?

Seriously, Chipper got hit in the eye?? I've been out all evening and this is what I come home to?

Gah.

They say it's not fractured and Chipper's day to day. ESPN made it sound like a contusion and nothing serious...possibly will play Saturday. I wouldn't be surprised. Chipper has proven he's willing to do everything he can to help this team win.

Lauren- Chipper hit a ball off the metal lip at the front (top) of the batting cage and it came right back down in his face...one of those things that you couldn't do if you tried 100 times...it is almost freaky the ways these guys are finding to get hurt

We WON, we WON!!
I'm doing a dance; you can't see it, and believe me, you better be glad, but yay!

Lizziebeth, believe me I was doing a dance, too! I cringed in the ninth but rejoiced when Bennett got it done. I think it was probably good for the guys to get a win on the road, and especially without Chipper. Woohoo!
