Baby: Concussed

Bad game. Very bad game.

Aww, Frenchy ran all the way in to check on him. Here's the official video, and the post-game interview is below:

I hope he'll be okay! As you heard, x-rays are negative (that = good) and he may be out for the Cards series. Get well soon, sweetie!

When this happened I had two of my friends call me and tell me not to get my South Philly Italian friends to put "a hit" on Shane.

When my friend hung up she said, "I know he is your boy."

The Phillies TV announcers were very concerned and talked about what good player and guy Brian is. Get well, Baby.

I didn't get to see the game- kinda glad i missed that...hopefully it won't be something that lingers but wow it could have been so much worse. Hope he's back soon

Really starting to believe this team is cursed- has ANY other team lost so many key guys to injuries??

Sooo, I guess this means my favorite Braves battery won't be together this week. :(

Poor guy. I bet he has a helluva headache today. Pretty cute that Frenchy ran all the way in from right to check on him.

This is what was said by Shane Victorino in the Philly paper this AM concerning his knocking Brian out:

McCann was down for a few minutes, with a concerned Victorino close by. He left the game with a mild concussion. Victorino said he spoke with the Braves' catcher after the game.

"I said, 'I hope you didn't think that it was dirty' or that I tried to go get him," he said. "But it was one of those plays where I felt like that was the only way for me to try and be safe. I hope he's fine, and he said he's fine. That's all that really matters to me, that he's fine."

Maybe Shane isn't so bad after all, maybe.

I was all set to hate victorino until I noticed on the video that as soon as he realized Mac was hurt he spun around and ran back to him- and stayed there until Mac sat up. Thought that was classy on his part.
