The most "special Spring Training instructor" ever!

My very first Braves boyfriend, Dale Murphy, has rejoined the team for a week! MLB.com has more.

In other news, Baby visited with a veteran, the USA team moves on to Round 3 (the semifinals) of the WBC in LA, and Josh Anderson hit a home run yesterday with arms as white as his gloves. I can't say anything -- I'd give anything to be that sunless right now! :( (My hair color is more red than usual in this pic, and the burn isn't quite purple enough. I don't know what happened, but everyone I saw last night in stores, etc. was equally purple. Also, I need to check the color settings on my camera before going to any games this year!)

What I'd like to know is how someone who spends pretty much all day in the sun (Josh) looks like he just came out of hybernation and someone who has spent, what, 3 hours in the sun (Lauren) looks like a lobster? SPF 50 and aloe, girl...lots and lots of aloe!

I wish I could say I knew how you feel, but I don't burn often.
I tan :D.

taken a few weeks ago on my cruise :D not the best pic, but I thought the waiter looked like Gonzo in a way)

but most everyone in my family burns and I know how badly they hurt so I'm sorry for the burn

Ca's right, Lauren. Just immerse yourself in aloe. I feel your pain (I'm very fair & freckled).

Great story. And I'm glad to see Murph in camp, can't imagine a better example for the young guys.

Or you can do what I do...avoid the sun (easier said then done in FL, I know...)- I am very fair and never liked sunscreen...so I stay out of the sun (also easier said then done in Southern California:D)

Thanks, everyone. Vacation has kinda sucked so far -- I came down here with the beginning of a cold that's turned into a whole cold and now it hurts to wear a bra (and dude, I have to wear a bra) and I'm sure I'm not making much sense, but I'm barely awake from a nap and my family is down at the beach while I'm watching Top Chef reruns in the condo. Good times.

I hate that you're burned so badly. Major freckle face right here and I've gotten to the "hurts to wear a bra" stage. It is definitely no fun. Hope your vaca gets much better!

:-( Poor Lauren. Best thing to do is rest, get lots of fluids & keep slathering on aloe/lotion.

I have a sort of random Braves story to share with you ladies. My mom is on a business trip & Dad (newly retired) opted to go with her. So he gets to stay in the snazzy hotel her company is paying for & while she's working, he went to see the Braves @ Mets today. This evening they had dinner with a couple of her co-workers & I guess the game came up in discussion. Her counterpart for the north Florida part of the company then tells them that her sister has been with Delta for 40+ years & because of her seniority she works all the Braves charter flights. I need to somehow meet this lady. You know she has some good stories. She knows all the guys, her Christmas card every year is a photo of her & a different player. Now that is a good job perk.

OMG.
Are you alright? The pink on my face is nothing compared to that (worked on a Habitat house today). I SO feel for you. Have you met my friend Ibuprofen?

flbravesgirl, there was an article in Chop Talk a while back about the flight attendants on the Braves Charter. That would be a super-cool job. :)

Lizziebeth, I do need to see if anyone in the condo has ibuprofen. I only have Midol and Excedrin Tension Headache with me. :/ I got burned on Tuesday and it still looks exactly the same, and still hurts almost as much. My dad and brother got some similar burns, both streaky with white splotches (which I have now too), so we're all about the aloe and moisturizer here. *sigh*

Hope you're feeling better, Lauren.

Lizziebeth, I salute you for working with Habitat. Wonderful organization.

USA lost so Mac's headed back to camp. I'm sure he's bummed but I'm relieved.

flbravesgirl-

I really tried to restrain the happy dance last night...honestly I tried. I didn't want to see team USA lose but...the happy dance refused to be held back:)

We are so on the same page, CA. :-)

Ouch! I feel some of your pain - I was in Orlando last week and was unfortunately less than thorough with the sunscreen before Saturday's game. Thanks to that and the angle of the sun, I managed to come home with a big, bright pink stripe down each forearm and over the backs of my hands.
