sometimes a picture really is worth 1,000 words (especially when many of them are unprintable)

Dare I ask how they wound up like that? ;-)

Which one of our boys is that?

That's Yankees captain Derek Jeter on top of Greg Norton. Kotchman is still battling a nasty stomach flu, so Norton started at first. The caption reads, "Jeter bruised a knuckle on his left pinkie on the play but went on to play three innings." OOOOH. We should all jump for joy that he has the constitution to keep playing with a serious injury like that! :p

(I actually don't have a problem with Jeter. He's a great player and seems like a good guy. I do have a problem with the NY-based media worshiping him, though.)

Oh, that's funny. :P

(Poor Kotchman, though. I heard he went to the hospital to get checked out the other day.)

The NY media is ridiculous.

I agree, Lauren. It's beyond silly the way they act. But Jeter is a good guy. My best friend worked at the Carrabba's by Legends Field for years & waited on him almost daily during ST (he's wild about their minestrone). She said he's very nice, down to earth & tips quite well. And it's not like she schmoozed up to him either, she knows nothing about baseball & had to be told who he was.

Mmmmm......Jeter.
