Happy Birthday, Eddie Perez!

I won't lie, I didn't catch much of the 1999 season. It was my second year away at college (out of state), Javy had blown his knee out that summer, and the backup catcher -- Eddie -- simply wasn't as attractive to me as Javy. But he proved how awesome he is in the playoffs (in spite of us getting swept in the WS) and after finding out we shared our birthday, he's been on the love list ever since. He seems like a really nice guy, and I wish him the best today. :)

Dear Mother Nature,

Usually, I love rain. Love, love, love. However, today is my birthday, the Mets are coming into town, and I have 20-something friends going to the game tonight. I would very much appreciate it if you let the rain stop by around noon today. I don't litter! I take reusable bags to the grocery store! I swerve to avoid hitting squirrels! See, I'm a good girl. Pleeeease, help the rain move through quickly today, so there's BP and a game tonight!
