Interviews and a KK Gathering

Atlanta Braves Talk has some good clubhouse interviews on a regular basis, and I really enjoyed the chat with Rossy that was posted on Sunday. I definitely didn't know Rossy and Huddy were teammates at Auburn in 1997! The long podcast contains an interview with KJ (starts just after 24 minutes in), and they start out by asking him about his new intro song, "Your Love" by The Outfield. :D

The Japan-American Society of Georgia and the Kenshin Kawakami Fan Club are co-planning for a Kawakami / Matsuzaka matchup on Friday, and has even scheduled a little get-together to watch the game at a local bar. My friend Jeff is a member of the JASG and sent me the flyer yesterday, and I just found a link (here) so you can see it too. If I spoke Japanese, I'd totally go!

I listened to the KJ interview last night and I was in agreement on their assessment of him being indecisive about some things. It seems he's been told a bunch of things to try to get out of his slump and it's not proved to have benefited him yet, much like Frenchy. And I'm he probably is embarrassed about the "streaky" title given to him and that it's proven to be true so far in his career. I really hope KJ can figure things out soon.

KJ-

I totally <3 you. A lot. You are nearing my infinity heart range. That being said, there is absolutly no excuse for switching your intro song from Rage Against the Machine to a horrid 80's hair band unless you lost a bet. Please stop playing it. NOW. I want to love you again. (and it ain't helping you hit darling!)

Love,
Me

I love KJ's new intro song, but don't worry CAB, he still uses the other one, too. I think he alternates...he uses the Rage Against the Machine one for his first at-bat, then the Outfield one, etc...

Btw, I love, love, love KJ!!

Rage > the outfield! He did say he was going to stop because a friend in the White Sox organization that just got called up uses it (REALLY?? TWO GUYS USE THAT SONG?? Repeant! The End is Near!!) and KJ told him he's stop using it (at least according to the podcast...I only hope it's true) :D

Maybe he'll pick something equally wrong next, like a Billy Joel song. (Sorry, MattE...)

Dang...that's actually one of my ringtones.

I like Billy Joel! And that can't be any worse...

And what's wrong with 80's hair bands? (Besides the hair, obviously...)

Your Love isn't a horrible song, IMO. It's just not an 'At Bat' song. My intro song would be Survivor's Eye of the Tiger, mostly because it pumps you up and it's a little cheesy. I don't listen to very much rock music, though; my current ringtone is the instrumental outro to Blak Jak's Ball Out ($500) (starts at 2:40). Good ringtone, bad intro song. :)

True, it is kind of a weird at-bat song...but it makes me love KJ even more because of his good taste in music.

I agree its not a great at bat song (I happen to like it otherwise), but you have to give him some credit for his reason for picking it- I love that he chose a song that he thought the crowd would get in to.
