Connie Hinske, Eric’s mom, said it has been exciting to see him progress from team to team. While he is no longer a day-to-day starter, Hinske is the kind of solid player who is popular among coaches and teammates.
“I think it’s so cool,” she said. “He’s happy being a bench player. And he’s still playing.
“It is way beyond what I had hoped. It was great when he signed with Toronto. It’s nine years later and he’s still finding a niche.”

"I don't think it's a coincidence that these last three years he's been on clubs that are World Series-caliber clubs," Braves right-hander Tim Hudson said. "I don't think it's a coincidence that we're here in the playoffs back again with him."Love Ske! So glad he's part of the team, and we hope he'll be here next year. :)
