"McCann's rally for kids with cancer"

Photo: Rebecca Hay, Atlanta Braves

There was a super story in the AJC yesterday about McCann's charity work, and one of the reasons the story is special is it's basically a very long quote by his wife Ashley. I really liked this part:
Brian and I met in seventh grade. I thought boys had cooties, but I liked him anyway. We started dating in 10th grade and got married in 2007. Both Brian and I come from great families who taught and instilled in each of us how important it is to "give back."

I've talked about and linked to the McCann 16 Home Run Challenge before, so I won't repeat myself. You can click the logo below to go straight to their site. Cancer research is a very worthy cause, and if you're not already giving back in some way, I recommend it. :)!

I signed up to his rally efforts this year. I always try to give to cancer related charaties since both my father and grand father passed away from cancer.

Over a month ago, my best friend's 2 year old son was diagnosed with a brain tumor the size of a golf ball. The tumor was cancerous. He is in chemo now.

Since I live outside of Philly, Ryan always loved Ryan Howard. Now he likes Brian too. He is so cute and says that Brian swings for him.

I'm so glad you lead us to Brian's Rally site before the season.

What Ashley said about Alexa getting her angel wings made me tear up. My cousin lost her son to cancer and I don't have the words to tell you how devastating it was. I'm proud of Brian & Ashley for choosing to focus on such an important issue.
