Braves third baseman Chipper Jones fields a ground ball. He plans to be ready for opening day, but needs to avoid pushing things too hard in the first weeks of spring training. JASON GETZ / JGETZ@AJC.COM |
Craig Kimbrel takes a throw as he covers first base during a drill. Kimbrel is expected to contend for the vacant closer's position. JASON GETZ/JGETZ@AJC.COM |
So if Chipper goes Socks UP, and Kitty Cat (okay, "Craig") goes Socks UP, will Jonny keep it up? Or will he wear Regular Pants because everyone else is rockin' his 2010 style? :D He's in Regular Pants in this pic with Prado (who totally sees the camera and makes a face! ha!)...
Martin Prado (front) and Jonny Venters leave the dugout area and head toward the field. Prado, like Jones and Medlen, is also rehabbing from a season-ending injury last year. JASON GETZ/JGETZ@AJC.COM |

Prado's acting like he's going to lose his job if he doesn't work his butt off, and we love him more for it. Did you see this pic? And read this article?
Bleacher Report has an article on why Cory Gearrin will win the final bullpen spot this spring. You won't find me complaining about that -- we went to the same college, he was one of the most personable of the rookies I met at the season ticket holder event a few weeks ago, he's adorable, and... yes, pitching-wise, he's very deserving of a spot. But BR covers all that. Go read their article for all the nitty-gritty, and watch this Caravan coverage video for the off-the-field stuff. :)
Back to my Socks UP! Campaign -- I tweeted about it I don't know how many times last season, and I'm serious -- I love it when players wear their socks up. Do it, boys! It's a great look!

I second that motion. Socks are good. Retro striped-top ones are even better.
